About Us

The Italian Gourmet has been a Vienna staple for more than 35 years. Our family owned business prides itself on attention to detail and customer service. We look forward to serving you, either in our deli, or through our catering services.

Jeremy Schottler grew up here in Vienna, VA. He went to OLGC Catholic School through the 8th grade and then went to Gonzaga College High School in DC. He graduated from James Madison University in 1998. Jeremy worked part time at The Italian Gourmet during high school and college. When he graduated from college with a BBA in Economics, he bought The Italian Gourmet and began the Schottler family tradition. Jeremy enjoyed working in his hometown and combining his passion for food with his knowledge of business.

Jeremy met Margaret McCollough in 2003, when they were both living in Tysons Corner. They got engaged in 2004, and soon after, Margaret began working full time at The Italian Gourmet. Margaret was from the small town of Sumter, South Carolina and appreciated the small town community life in Vienna. Margaret is a graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Margaret and Jeremy got married in 2005 in Asheville, NC at The Grove Park Inn and went on a honeymoon trip to Alaska. In 2006, the couple was blessed with the birth of their daughter, Molly Maree Schottler.

In 2010, the little family grew to four with the birth of Mitchell McCollough Schottler. The business grew as well that year with the addition of Molly’s Yogurt. Named after their daughter, Molly’s Yogurt is the second business for the Schottler family. Located in the same shopping center as The Italian Gourmet, Molly’s Yogurt offers gelato, sorbet and frozen yogurt, as well as indoor seating for Italian Gourmet sandwich customers.

Margaret and Jeremy have travelled to Italy several times. Their favorite dishes to eat in Italy include cacio e pepe, pasta Bolognese and bistecca alla fiorentina. And of course caffe and gelato! Margaret and Jeremy visited the Folonari winery in Tuscany and now carry the Folonari wines at The Italian Gourmet.

The Schottler family is proud to be part of the Vienna community!
